thanks Dr. Mona!

www. islamichappiness.com is a new website I found on the internet by coincidence . The site contains religious lectures given to muslim women who live in Texas. The interesting part about this site is - in my opinion - the narration style of the lecturer.
She is an Egyptian doctor who has devoted her time to preaching in mosques. She speaks with such fervor, it's simply too irresistible to ignore.

When I was going through a low point in my life, I found myself trying to force happiness back into my daily routine. I would deliberately get out of my way to find things that are amusing/distracting such as watching stand up comedians on youtube, or going out every night to gatherings, or watching hours of the latest series, or using facebook , or eating junk or oversleeping or or or.......
Those techniques succeed in being numbing agents but as soon as the episode, outing , event is over, the thing I was running away from, confronts me stronger than before , so i look for another distraction.

That's when I stumbled upon Dr. Mona Sabri's website -islamic happiness- and truly felt like i found a treasure. The whole website has many informative and useful tabs but there's a section in the site that deals with broken hearts and sadness and patience , which i immediately identified with.
I started listening to the lectures on those subjects, and to my surprise , I felt relieved and peaceful even hours after I heard the last lecture.

Hearing Dr. Mona is the only thing in my day that made me feel normal , the only thing that gave me strength to face the next day. And the reason why her way beat the other ways to 'amuse' myself, is beacause she talks about Allah! plain and simple.
"ألا بذكر الله تطمئن القلوب"
Happiness or peace of mind -unfortunately- can't be bought. There are no quick fixes. But God gave us people and tools to help us get through the tests we face.

Same thing happened to me; I started treating my husband and kids in a different way. I’m trying my best to fulfill my Amanat as much as I can. When I listen to Dr. Mona (our sister Mona) I feel like she is talking to my as if I was her daughter. She answered all the questions I had in my mind when I came to the US 9 years ago.
جزى الله الاخت منى عنا كل خير و جعلنا ممن يستمعون القول فيتبعون احسنه
