Words of Wisdom

A few days ago I was looking through an old bookshelf scanning the arabic titles to see what might capture my curiosity. If there is anything I get a rush from it's books, the excitement in finding what may lie between those bindings; I could seriously relate to Harry Potter entering the restricted section of the school library! Back to reality ;p ... i found a book (pictured) and started flipping through its pages only to find the most beautiful wealth of subjects that covered"self-help/leadership/poetry/parenting"(the book is a recent print of an older book (the author lived in Cordoba from 246 - 860 ه)
It surprised me, that the subject matter was so modern; I lay on the sofa engrossed in its pages, bits and pieces of poetry transformed into pictures of times long gone when Cordoba and Seville where the capitals of Art and Culture, people used to compete in music and literature, and among them the author of this book spoke of leadership, honor, and chivalry. Here are a few poems that have moved me and that I would like to share:

Chapter on Leadership and Humility

Chapter in Iman

****

I have not contributed with versus from the quran, however what I loved about this book is that the writer and those around him lived by the quran.. when I read his words I connected with him, sorrow; wisdom, and faith, sub7an Allah how as muslims we don't just connect here and today .. but through time too..
